Description
Used to investigate hemolytic anemia. A positive Coombs Test at any dilution is indicative of increased concentrations of antibodies or complement on the surface of the red cells and supports a diagnosis of AIHA. A positive Coombs test does not differentiate primary from
secondary (babesia, drugs, lymphoma, Ehrlichia, other) AIHA. A negative Coombs Test does not rule out AIHA.

Description
This test detects IgG antibodies against canine parvovirus and canine distemper virus using the Zoetis (formerly Synbiotics) TiterCHEK ELISA. The result is reported as positive or negative; a titer is not reported. This assay is for canine samples only. Canine Distemper Virus: A positive result is comparable to a titer of 1:32 (or greater) by serum neutralization. Sensitivity is 88%; Specificity is 98%. Dogs with a positive result have sterilizing immunity thus should be protected from infection.

Component
Provides a positive or negative result in relation to the IgG level being protective for Parvovirus and Distemper virus exposure in dogs.
Specimen
0.5 mL serum
Description
This test detects IgG antibodies against canine parvovirus and canine distemper virus using ELISA. Results are reported as positive (protective) or negative (insufficient neutralizing antibody detected). A positive result for Canine Parvovirus correlates with a titer of 1:80 (or greater) detected by hemagglutination inhibition. A positive result for the Canine Distemper virus correlates with a titer of 1:32 (or greater) detected by serum neutralization.
